Eleven years ago, in anticipation of our adoption trip for our daughter, Haley, we asked a thousand questions about the conditions we should expect, what the orphanages would be like, etc.  We also began to solicit donations to take to Haley’s orphanage as a gift for their taking care of Haley. Our first donation in the summer of 1995 came from Wynonna Judd, who gave us several dozen stuffed animals to take to the orphanage.

Encouraged by Ms. Judd’s generous donation, we began to seek many other donations, and were able to give several boxes of clothes, toys and supplies to her orphanage when we arrived in China to adopt Haley. From there, Annabelle’s Wish began to grow.

Over the last 11 years, we have gathered basic need items such as  diapers and clothing.  We added to this vitamins, over the counter medicines, as well as medical care and also toys (to aid in the development of hand-to-eye coordination and motor skills).

The last couple of years, we have been able to provide cleft lip repair and started a scholarship fund which has provided funds for educational expenses for really dedicated older students. 

Our dreams and hopes are that we will be able to do more for our orphanages in the way of education, sending more clothes and basic supplies and to add more orphanages to our outreach.
